Set a goal to complete 85% of the workload in 2020
This is a milestone marking the event connecting the entire metro line No. 1 from Depot Long Binh (District 9, Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong) to Ben Thanh Central Station (District 1). Thus, the metro line project No. 1 (Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien) has completed the construction of the structure to the stage of installing rails, electromechanical systems, information, signals, … then to equipment installation, finishing at stations and other jobs.
The city aims to complete 85% of the volume of the Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien Metro No. 1 project this year (currently reaching 71%); operation and exploitation by the end of 2021.

According to the representative of HCM City Urban Railway Project Management Board, when the diaphragm wall is demolished, the Metro Line 1 will run smoothly from Long Binh depot to Ben Thanh central station; Connecting all 3 underground stations of Ben Thanh – City Theater – Ba Son and all 2.6 km underground.

It is known that Metro No. 1 Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien has a length of 19.7 km, including 14 stations, extending from Long Binh (District 9) to Ben Thanh (District 1). The project was started in August 2012. More than 12 km of overhead traffic was opened in June 2018. The underground section is 2.6 km long, including package 1b (2 underground stations of the Opera House and Ba Son) and package 1a (Ben Thanh station).
Previously, after Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee approved adjusting the total investment for metro line No. 1, the capital problem was solved. Immediately after the capital, the contractors hastened the construction progress during Tet holiday and after Tet increased even more to meet the schedule.
HCMC “greening” 15km along Metro No. 1 Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien
It is expected that before 2021, Ho Chi Minh City will complete planting trees along Metro Line 1 Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien. Green plates will appear in the elevated section and Hanoi Highway with a length of nearly 15 km.
According to the Director of the Urban Railway Management Board – Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong, the greenery project along Metro Line 1 Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien is invested based on the existing landscape, combining important transport hubs. and expected to be completed in 2020, before the completion of the first Metro line of Ho Chi Minh City.
It is known that the purpose of this greenery project is to build an urban beauty, create a green area along the metro line, serving the needs of people entertainment and entertainment and most importantly, improving the environment., reducing climate change processes.

The work is divided into 4 segments. Specifically:
- The section from Rach Van Thanh to Dien Bien Phu street (0.8 km);
- The section from Saigon Bridge to Rach Chiec Bridge (3.2 km);
- Section from Rach Chiec bridge to Thu Duc crossroads (4.4 km);
- Section from Thu Duc crossroads to the end of metro viaduct, railway station in District 9 and Di An town, Binh Duong province (6.3 km).
